Why wear a uniform?

Pack 6 is a uniformed organization like a sports team.  The Boy Scouts of America has always been a uniformed organization.  Its uniforms help to create a sense of belonging and equality, and symbolize character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. Wearing a uniform gives youth members and Adult Leaders a sense of identification, achievement and commitment.

Since 1910, the Boy Scout uniform has been a recognizable part of the American scene.  People seeing a Scout uniform expect someone of good character who is prepared to the best of their ability to help those around him.
